Happy Easter, everyone! Have a wonderful time sharing this special season with your family and friends. April ushers in new growth in many ways and certainly we are having our share here in our neighborhood.
Bids went out this past month for fencing in approximately 1600 feet of perimeter fence installation on the Northhill side from 1421 through 1705 Hide-A-Way Lane. Six invitations went out:
Holcomb Fence Company $19,020.00
Gulf Coast Fence Company $19,066.08
Strickland Fence Company $20,704.00
Charles Thigpen Fence $21,472.00
So-Tuff Fence $25,230.00
Williams Fence Declined to bid
Holcomb Fence Company was awarded the project. Our Maintenance Department cleared the area last month; Holcomb should complete the project by month’s end.
Our Maintenance Department built a metal cover over the new generator located at Well #3. The materials were purchased from Pattens Metal at a cost of $913.00. The old un-repairable generator at Well #2 has been removed and the building repaired last month.
As HAWL continues to grow and our county around us, processes are in place to maintain our property value and to help insure all structures are built to code. Pearl River County has a new process for construction permits and guidelines, with follow-up inspections. In most cases, a county permit is required in addition to our permit process. For more information on county requirements, our office has copies of guidelines or you can visit their website:
www.co.pearl-river.ms.us/planning/index.htm.
The construction documentation submitted with the permit application to both Pearl River County and HAWL should be identical. Submit to the county first. A copy of the approved Pearl River County Building Permit must be attached to the documents when submitted to HAWL for permit.
HAWL will not duplicate construction progress inspections required and conducted by Pearl River County. The exception which will still require prior notification to inspect by HAWL is any concrete pour or drainage modification. HAWL does not charge for construction inspections that it requires and conducts. Prior to beginning any approved permit work, you must contact the office at a minimum of two business days (48 hours) to set up a “Pre-Construction Onsite Conference”. Failure to do so could cause the project to be halted by HAWL and could result in the project being torn down.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please give me a call at the office.
