HAWL Donation Drive for Louisiana Flood Victims

Many Hide-A-Way residents came together to help our neighbors to the West in their time of need following the devastating flooding of Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and across the Acadiana area.  Donation drop-offs were accepted at the HAWL Office from August 24th through August 31st.  Items collected included non-perishable food items, adult and baby toiletries, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, and school supplies.  A total of 1,376 pounds of donations and $125 (gift cards and a check) were received.  Thank you to the many individuals for their outpouring of support and a special thank you to Curtis Craig for transporting the items on September 1st.  Recipients of these donations were Our Daily Bread Food Bank (Hammond, LA), Hammond High School (Hammond, LA), and Fontainebleau High School (Mandeville, LA.)
