HAPPY NEW YEAR!  I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday season!  Wow, how 2006 flew by!  It is hard to believe that the new year is already here.  We accomplished a lot last year, and I am looking forward to another great year with 2007.

Last month we purchased a 2004 New Holland Backhoe for $39,500.00 from Crain Tractor & Equipment in Columbia, MS.  The payment term included a down payment of $8,500.00 and a four year finance plan at 5.9% interest with the option available for a penalty-free early payoff.  Our old 1981 backhoe had become inoperable last month as a result of a fire.  This is a necessary piece of equipment for our water system and drainage operations.  We are working with our equipment insurance for our claim on the old backhoe in the hopes of covering some of the cost of the replacement.

The Mississippi Department of Health, at our last inspection, determined the current chlorine pump at Well #3 would not be suitable in providing increased chlorine levels, if needed.  As a result, we followed their recommendation and Well #3 now has a new chlorinator pump.  This was purchased from Coast Chlorinator & Pump Co., Inc. at the cost of $3,247.45.

The Picayune City Council required the closure of the HAWL Southgate exit effective December 15, 2006.  This exit was open Monday through Friday from 6:30 am – 8:30 am and accommodated 200 cars per day.  Picayune Council found Cooper Road to be unsafe for the additional traffic.  HAWL is working with our local officials and MDOT for a resolution for the future.  We will inform you of any progress we make.

We would like to thank everyone that submitted their great ideas in naming our restaurant.  The Board of Directors reviewed all the submissions and a new name has been chosen.  We invite you to come dine at “Waters Edge”.

To all our property owners, have a safe, happy and prosperous new year.  And as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please give me a call at the office.

Bruce Devillier,

General manager
