The weather has been so nice, and I am looking forward to more of the same through the month of May. Summertime is just next month. I hope you have found the amenities to be to your liking and encourage you to use them. There have been many restaurant and community events going on. Please always check the calendar of events located in the Echoes. The Social Committee has been busy planning dances, Brunch, Bingo and Boutique, the flea market, the Easter Egg hunt and breakfast with the Easter Bunny. I would like to thank the Social Committee for their hard work and encourage everyone to get involved in the events or other activities in the community.
The final phase of the gate system project was completed at the main gate last month. The outside resident lane, which is only for those individuals with the automatic tag/decal on their car, is working well and we have sold over 1,800 tags. The original order was for 2,000 tags/decals . After these 2,000 automatic tag/decals are sold, due to a manufacturer’s price increase of $2.00 per tag, the cost of the tags will be as follows:
-
$17.00 — Cost for Property Owner
-
$17.00 — Cost for Property Owner’s other occupants (dependents) if driver’s license has HAWL address. Limit 3 tags/decals for other occupants/renters.
-
$52.00 — Cost for Property Owner’s other occupants (dependents) if driver’s license does not have HAWL address. Limit 3 tags/decals for other occupants/renters.
Cars with the automated tag/decal (utilizing the outside lane) must STOP at the stop sign for the reader to activate. It is imperative that you ensure that the gate is in the UP position, then you may move through. If you are right behind another vehicle, the system will read your tag and the arm will stay up but you must still stop to verify that the gate arm is up. The primary difficulty that we are having is that some cars are trying to fly through which are causing problems for that car and others. Please stop before going through.
The visitor lane is also going well. Please ensure you pre-register your guests, including workers, food delivery, etc. You can pre-register either by calling the main gate or using the e-Advance System located on our website at www.hawlms.com. (All passwords and instructions were previously sent out in a separate mailing.) If pre-registered for an extended period, the View Registrations option on the e-Advance System only allows you to view those pre-registered visitors prior to the guard checking the guest in the first time. After the guest’s first entry, the property owner will not be able to view the pre-registration of the guest, although, the guest is still registered in the system. If any changes need to be made after the initial arrival of the guest, you must contact the main gate, and the guard can assist you by updating the information on your behalf. Upon entering the inside lane tell the guard if you are a visitor or resident, as this will help expedite entry.
The Visitor System retains a guest’s information for sixty days. The information that is retained is the picture, name, address, date of birth, driver’s license number and who allowed entry as well as the date and time of entry. This information goes into a secure database. This information will only be used by management if some violation occurs in the community and further research is needed. For residents utilizing the inside lane, the driver’s license is viewed (not scanned) to verify membership data.
Thank you for your continued patience. As we are making these major improvements, we are all, at times, inconvenienced; I appreciate your working with us to make these transitions as painless as possible. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please give me a call at the office.
