This year is coming to an end with only two months remaining. The holiday seasons are fast approaching. It is my wish for everyone that this season of thankfulness will be one of joy and relaxation and filled with family and friends. Although it is coming to an end, 2011 continues to be a productive year for the community and I look forward to the same in 2012.
Last month, the Capital Expenditure Budget of $305,500 for this fiscal year was approved for the following expenditures:
· Roads = $250,000 - including approximately 2 miles of road overlay and some road striping.
The time frame will be the first quarter of next year. The bids will go out next month.
· Club Facilities = $3,500 - includes interior renovations in December (mainly at the West
Marina restrooms). The projected time frame will be January/February 2012.
· Computer software annual updates = $7,000.
· Two new pavilions in the community = $15,000.
· Water system = $30,000 - includes pressure tank painting, continuing the new water meter
replacement program and water system equipment.
Please note this is only a plan. Once bids are received, we will know how much of a difference there is between projected and actual costs and will communicate these plans to you. As costs continue to rise cost planning is made more difficult. For example, a road paving cost history for a mile of paving is given below, and as you can see, the cost increases.

A hot topic lately has been with dogs “barking and running loose”. Please help by controlling your pets; it is the pet owners responsibility and also a respectful thing to do for your neighbors. I am listing Animal Control Regulation Covenant #47.
47. Animal Control Regulation.
To protect the health, property and well being of Hide-A-Way residents, no animals, livestock, or poultry of any kind shall be kept on any Lot, except that traditional and customary household pets shall be allowed.
a. All household pets must have proof of applicable vaccination.
b. Animals which interrupt the quiet of the neighborhood are prohibited. (This is any time of the
day.)
c. Animals which, due to their aggressive behavior or otherwise, cause reasonable concern for
the safety of persons, pets, or property are prohibited.
d. It shall be a violation of the covenants for any Lot Owner to allow a pet to run at large within the
Subdivision. When exercising or walking pets, the owner must keep the animal restrained by a
leash at all times.
e. Any pet found running at large in violation of Section 47 (d) may be caught and detained by a
person designated by the Club as the Animal Control Officer. Pets so impounded shall be
dealt with in the manner specified in the Hide-A-Way Club, Animal Control Regulations.
f. All Lot Owners maintaining pets in Hide-A-Way Lake shall comply with the Hide-A-Way Lake
Club, Animal Control Regulations, which may be amended and revised from time to time by the
Board.
As we near the completion of the major improvements we have been working on for many months, let me again express my gratitude for your tolerance. My door is open to you and your suggestions and as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please give me a call at the office.
