Scholarship Recipients

The Scholarship Foundation for Hide-A-Way Lake Students is proud to announce the graduating seniors and winners of $2,000 scholarships for the 2026 class. The presentation was held at the Hide-A-Way Lake Lodge on June 9, 2026. The winners are:

Olivia Cardona: At Pearl River Central High School, Olivia maintained a balance of excellent academic achievement while being an active member of the Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, the National Math Honor Society, and the National Technical Honor Society. She was a member of PRCHS varsity cheer team. Away from school, she volunteered at the White Oaks Care Center and at the RE/Max Premier Group. She has been accepted at the Mississippi Gulf Coast
Community College to study in the fall of 2026.

Reese Carson: Reese has been consistently on the  Pearl River Central High School’s Honor Roll for her very high
academic performance while being a member of National Technical Honor Society as well as Mu Alpha Theta and the
National Math Honor Society. Her volunteer work at the Special Olympics, ECE Preschool, and helping mothers with babysitting is a credit to her initiative. Reese has accomplished all this while working at three local businesses. She has been accepted in the fall to study Cosmetology at the Pearl River Community College.

Abby Collier: Abby’s resume is one to be admired. While at Picayune Memorial High School she has achieved
membership in the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and the National Technical Honor
Society. She was elected by her peers to be their Student Council Representative. For the last five years, she has been a part of the Civic Women’s Club and Juniorette Diamonds and has volunteered on multiple civic projects. Her
volunteerism is an exceptionally long list – At PMHS she advised Freshman Orientation, was the dance coach for two years at PMHS Little Pride Camp, and the New Orleans Mission Giving Hope Retreat. Pearl River Community College has accepted her to continue her studies.

Jalynn Delatte: Not only does Jalynn have excellent academic performance, but she has accomplished it while
graduating in only three years at Pearl River Central High School. Graduating early is a wonderful indication of her
willingness to stay focused on her goals. She has volunteered to place new fish habitats in Hide-A-Way Lake to improve the quality of the lake experience for its residents. She will be pursuing a career in the biomedical field when she attends Pearl River Community College.

Ella Hanson: Currently, Ella has been accepted at the South Louisiana Community College in Lafayette to study this fall. At Pearl River Central High School, she was on the Superintendent’s list and has been an active volunteer with both PRCHS Special Education and Special Needs programs and assisted with Picnic in the Park. To round out a very
impressive list of achievements, she is a member of the Blue Maskers Theatre group and Illuminations Show Choir.

Jaiden McAndrew: Jaiden has achieved her high school diploma by getting her GED at the GED- HiSet program
locally. She will be attending Pearl River Community College in the fall of 2026. “Volunteer” is the perfect description of Jaiden’s accomplishments. She volunteers at World Outreach Revival Center’s children’s ministry and child care
every summer. She has done several fundraisers to help others attend the Christian Summer Camp. For the last three years, Jaiden has been heavily involved at our local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). Shedoes everything from bathing to transporting animals who have been adopted.

Christopher Stricker: He is a graduate of Jesuit High School in New Orleans with exceptional academics. He has been an anchor on Jesuit’s wrestling team throughout high school. His list of academic achievements: National Honors
Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Leader of the Sodality of Mary, President of the St. Joseph’s Club, A Jesuit Big Brother, and Retreat Leader at the Kairos Retreat. Christopher has been a volunteer going to Belize to help the villagers, worked at Hams to Fams delivering food to 300 families, worked 5 years on the Thanksgiving Food Drive, and at Grace at the Green Light serving breakfasts to local homeless. Auburn University has accepted him for their fall semester as he is
pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering.

Noah Toft: At Pearl River Central High School in its Career Technical Education Program, Noah has been
inspired to pursue a degree in Information Technology. In high school he was an active member of the Beta Club
beautifying our community, National Honors Society, Mu Alpha Theta, the National Math Honor Society, and the
National Technical Honor Society. His academics are excellent. He volunteered at the Pearl River Central Elementary School helping during the Christmas holidays. He has a strong conviction to serve his local community. The University of Southern Mississippi has accepted him in computer science (Applied Computer Science) for the fall semester.
