Get Involved in Your Community
Social Clubs are the perfect way to become involved in the community and to make new friends. If you have an idea for a club, and it is not listed, please contact the Board member over the Social Committee or the General Manager to discuss forming future clubs/activities for the community to participate in. 

Bible Study Club
The Bible Study Club will meet every Tuesday morning at 10:00 am in the Board Room in the downstairs area of the Lodge. For more information, contact Angela Puklavetz at 714-875-2666. Meetings will resume on Tuesday, Septmber 10, 2024.

Canasta
Join in the fun of Canasta. The group meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at the HAWL Lodge at 11:00 am to play cards and enjoy lunch. Contact Ms. Mickey Jackson at 504-606-4862 for more information.

Emotional Support Group for Widows and Widowers
The Emotional Support Group for Widows and Widowers will meet on the second Tuesday of the month in the afternoon from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm in the downstairs Board Room. The group will meet weekly to discuss various topics and offer support to one another. Contact Jessica Lacour at 601-799-2937 for more information. Meetings are currently suspended and will start again at a future date.

Fishing Club
Attention fishing enthusiasts: Hide-A-Way Lake now has a non-competitive, non-recordkeeping, free club for anyone interested in having fun while fishing. The club meets monthly with the purpose to promote fishing as well as helping others learn how to fish. The Fishing Club will be an asset to the Lake Quality Committee in regards to documenting catches and aiding in management of the fishery. There may even be a big bass competition among members from time to time. Future events are in the works. Garden Club
Whether you are an amateur gardener, a professional, or just interested in helping beautify our community, you are welcome to be a part of our gathering. For more information, contact Mickey Jackson, President, at 504-606-4862.

Ladies BUNCO Group
The HAWL Ladies BUNCO group is looking for some new, enthusiastic members. The group meets one afternoon per month in members’ homes for fun and sociability. For information, call Patricia Martin at 601-832-0786.

Low Intensity Aerobics
Low Intensity Aerobics: Stretching, Strength Training. No floor exercise. Classes are held at the fire station on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:30 am. Anyone interested should contact Ann Israel at 601-798-6335. 

Pickleball Club
If you are interested in playing, you can sign up with the pickleball club/network. Information is available on globalpickleball.network. Membership is completely free. Members   will need to create a free account and join the Hide-A-Way Lake network. In that network, all of the information about leagues and tournaments on our courts can be found. HAWL has two tennis courts that have the capability to become four pickleball courts. Nets will need to be rolled into place and then put back when finished.

Pinochle
WANTED: Pinochle players. We will teach you! Pinochle is played Friday mornings at 10:00 am at the Lodge. Do not need to commit to play every Friday. Fun, friendly, forgetful group. Come try it! Call Ann Israel at 601-798-6335 for more information.

Water Aerobics and Exercise
This is the perfect workout for overworked knees, elbows, and shoulders. Best of all, the classes are FREE! Classes will be held Tuesday - Friday at  6:00 pm. Classes are already underway. These classes are for adults only and anyone interested should contact Brenda Hall (601-590-4563) concerning the 6:00 pm class.
