Hide-A-Way Lake faired very well with the major flash flood weather that occurred yesterday. It has been over 20 years since the community received this amount of water in such a short time. Culverts and ditches can only handle so much water when you receive so much rain in such a short period of time. Thank you to the property owners and HAWL staff for their work to keep the community safe. We have more rain tonight until tomorrow morning with this storm. Please monitor the weather. The lake valves are open. Sand and empty sandbags are available at the firehouse; bring your shovel. Garbage collection is currently taking place. Please remove your carts from the roadway by this evening. Make sure that your driveway culverts are open and not blocked. The back spillway is currently open along with all other roadways in the community. Do not drive through water crossing the roadway; always choose safety. All roadway culverts are being checked for safety concerns. We currently know of six side washouts that occurred yesterday. All washouts have been marked for repair. Repairs are being planned with the Maintenance Department. The lake has plenty of debris and is at a high level. The entire lake is no wake until it returns to normal level. If you have a boat in the water, ensure that it is properly secured. Please check on your neighbors and work together as great neighbors make great communities.
HAWL would like to thank all of our Property Owners who donate to our 4th of July Fireworks Show! HAWL’s Fireworks Donation Goal is $6,500. This fireworks show depends solely on donations and is 100% funded by Property Owners. The Fireworks Show will take place Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 9:00 pm Rain date of Sunday, July 5, 2026. (There must be dry conditions at 7:00 pm for show to proceed.) If you watch the show, please donate!
Its’s Buffet Night this Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm! Join Waters Edge for a classic Southern Buffet. Enjoy fried fish, fried chicken, potato casserole, veggie medley, and classic Alfredo pasta with chicken or shrimp with a drink. $18.99 for adults, $7.99 for children 5 - 12 years old, and free for children 4 and under.
Happy Father’s Day to all of our Hawl Fathers! Celebrate this Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 11:00 am - 3:00 with Surf & Turf at the Waters Edge. In addition to the full menu, enjoy a ribeye topped with garlic butter shrimp joined by a baked potato and fresh vegetables for $28.99. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the HAWL Office.
Swim Lessons spots are still available for June and July! Each one-on-one session, taught by a certified lifeguard trained in swim instruction, will take place Tuesday - Friday from 9:00 am - 9:45 am. Call the HAWL Office at 601-798-1484 to register. Please see below for more information.

Community Meet & Greet with the General Manager and Meet the Candidates Running for the Board of Directors

Saturday, June 27, 2026, join HAWL’s General Manager Bruce Devillier for a Community Meet and Greet at 9:00 am in Waters Edge Restaurant. This face-to-face collaboration with property owners will provide the opportunity to ask questions to the General Manager directly. This is a great time to ask any questions to prevent the spread of misinformation. While new property owners are highly encouraged to attend, everyone in HAWL is welcome. This meeting will also provide the opportunity to meet the candidates running for the Board of Directors. If you wish to discuss individual matters such as an issue with a neighbor or a complaint, contact the General Manager directly at the Office to set up an appointment.
Blood Drive

In response to a nationwide critical blood supply shortage, HAWL is sponsoring a blood drive through the Blood Center of Picayune on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm. The donation bus will at the Lodge parking lot. All donors will receive a coupon for a free appetizer with the purchase of two entrees. Call the HAWL Office at 601-798-1484 for more information.
Oyster Night

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, enjoy charbroiled oysters with bread and lemons. $19.99 for a
dozen or $9.99 for a half dozen. While the special is available from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Waters Edge will feature the full menu until 8:00 pm. For ordering purposes, reservations are required for oysters no later than Wednesday, June 24, 2026, by calling the HAWL Office.

Attention HAWL teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17: on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm, join the Social Committee for a Teen Pizza and Pool Bash at the downstairs Lodge/pool area. Pizza and refreshments will be served at no cost; however, Property Owners are required to make reservations for their teen by July 22, 2026, by calling the HAWL Office at 601-798-1484. Teens are permitted to bring one additional guest. When making reservations, please alert the HAWL Office of any food allergies.
Deck Grill at Waters Edge
